The federal government says it has broken up a major identity-theft ring that helped illegal immigrants get jobs. More than 1,200 people were arrested in raids on meat-packing plants in six states Tuesday, in the largest-ever workplace crackdown on illegal immigration. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff says people's identities were being bought or stolen so that illegal immigrants could secure jobs in the United States.
